After four weeks of dieting and some serious excercise I am proud to say that I am now under 180 lbs! I haven't seen the scale break 180 since about 12 years ago, so it was a pretty cool feeling when I saw it. I wouldn't say that I was overweight beforehand and I would say that I was in pretty good shape, but RevFit is taking me to the next level and I am loving every second of it. When I tell people about my diet there seems to be a few standard reactions: 1) WHY?? 2) You're crazy and 3) You look great.
My favorite is clearly number 3, but I thought I'd clarify why I am doing this. I've never had the desire to be extremely fit, I have wanted to be in better than average shape, but I have always been satisfied with that. I always found that a personal trainer makes each and every workout extremely efficient and I missed having one. My previous trainer Christina had moved on from my gym to RevFit and I depended on the advice of Men's Health for most of my workouts. While I occasionally had a decent workout, none were great, it was difficult to kick my own butt and maintain that better than average fitness. I approached Christina and told her I wanted back in and luckily I was able to partner Aruba Tan and RevFit in what is going to be an awesome relationship. Mariah (my trainer) set the bar high with a 5% body-fat goal and I thought, "why not?" I'm 28, it's time to get my sh** together, and this is a great way to do it.
So to all those who don't understand why I'm dieting or why I am saying no to that drink or night on the town...I've been there...done that, and now I'm trying something new. Hard work, dedication, and a strong-will is putting my life on a different track for the time being. I'm not changing, just bettering myself one day at a time. My ultimate goal is to get ripped for this challenge and then maintain a healthier and fitter lifestyle while still having fun and enjoying my favorite thing in the world...good food! I'm hooked on healthy and I can't wait to see the transformation that lies ahead in the next 8 weeks. I'll keep you posted.
